Amanda began creating with digital media as a child and has explored a variety of creative methods to produce stories therein. Nearly a decade ago, she took her knowledge into the field to help others learn to share their own stories using digital media.

When she works with participants to create Digital Stories, she helps them realize the new media’s value in telling stories so to help them realize the process is attainable and to provide them a more in-depth understanding of the ways we use and value storytelling in society. In this way, Amanda hopes to help participants move from passive users of technology to active media producers and creators of new knowledge. Additionally, she hopes to bring about a change in the perception of authority by exploring the value and authority found within citizen, often non-academic, voices.
