Writes of Spring

Mission Statement

The Orlando Repertory Theatre and the graduate students of the University of Central Florida's Theatre for Young Audience program work in partnership to present Writes of Spring, a writing competition dedicated to celebrating the works of young people in Central Florida. The project strives to support literacy, critical thinking, and creative expression by transforming the ideas and words of submissions into a fully produced show onstage. The competition, celebration, and production work together to honor the creativity of students. Write of Spring seeks to ignite creativity and imagination by encouraging young people to express themselves through writing.

Amanda's Role

In 2010, Amanda joined the Writes of Spring team as co-playwright and assistant project coordinator. For Writes of Spring 2012, Amanda serves as the
project coordinator and playwright.
